I was Consultant Project Manager for London Historic Buildings Trust on this exciting initiative in the Petticoat Lane area of East London. Working collaboratively with volunteers, community organisations, designers, local authorities and building owners, the project developed an engaging new trail based on heritage themes identified, researched and championed by residents. 10 colourful plaques were installed on local buildings, accompanied by a website that delves deeper into the topics. The project was funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund and the London Borough of Tower Hamlets. I then managed a follow-up project for London Historic Buildings Trust and Toynbee Hall that worked with a local primary school to create high quality learning resources based on the heritage trail.
